New York Beaches

What are the best beaches to go to the beach in New York?

CONEY ISLAND - Coney Island is New York's cult beach. Until a few years ago it was a decadent area and there were plans to tear down the playgrounds and make something else out of it. That didn't happen and now the beach south of Brooklyn is regaining a new charm. It is a favourite beach for New Yorkers at the seaside or for tourists who want to visit this iconic corner of the Big Apple and soak up some sun.

To get to Coney Island you can take the D or N underground lines, which are the fastest and both stop at Coney Island/Stillwell Avenue. The Q and F trains take longer.

BRIGHTON BEACH - Brighton beach is close to Coney Island but is much quieter and quieter. Brighton beach is also known in New York as Little Russia. A colony of Russians lives here and it is the only place in New York where you can drink vodka on the beach.

MANHATTAN BEACH - This is located next to Brighton beach and is a smaller, family beach just behind a children's playground, so it's a perfect place for families.

ROCKAWAY BEACH - Can be reached by the A underground and is a surfer's and hipster's paradise at the beach in New York. Hurricane Sandy had practically destroyed it but New Yorkers quickly got it back on its feet.

JONES BEACH - The wildest and most beautiful beaches are always at a safe distance from the city and even in New York this is the case. Jones beach is located on Long Island, can be reached by train and is a paradise of more than 10 km of huge and lonely beach.
